Proof of Concept Podcast No.1

IN 2 EXCITING NEW FLAVORS! AAC & MP3!

Here's a simple little podcast I've been working on for NMRLS.
Pictures & weblinks are included in the iTunes enhanced version of the podcast!

Download /open AAC file here.
--- Playable on iTunes & iPods

Download / open MP3
(no pictures or links) here.
--- Playable on Windows Media Player & MP3 players.

Once downloaded ...
- in AAC version it should open iTunes for you
-- in MP3 version it may start playing right in your browser, or open Windows Media Player, or QuickTime, or WinAmp, or RealPlayer, or some other media player ... Windows gives you a lot of choices ;-)

On iTunes be sure to have "show artwork" turned on (under View menu). Click on the "artwork" (lower right) to enhance you're viewing pleasure, the URLs are embedded in the picture, just click. Also you can skip around on this podcast by clicking on the "chapters" menu in iTunes. You should see "Chapters" at the top left of iTunes menu bar. If you have a video iPod (or maybe even the Nano), sync this and it should all work on there too.

It might work on a Microsoft Zune too, I'd be curious to know that ...

Enjoy and give me some feedback.

Go Scott! Welcome to the dark side *mwah ha ha!*

Sounds great for an on-board mic. Great job!

Good work. I like the fact you kept it simple using the available software. Sound was fine for this chat. Length was about right. You are a natural.

To feed your passion for the next podcast - how about explaining the elements of creating a podcast to us regular folks? Can I listen to more podcasts outside of iTunes - what is an RSS feed and do I need it to listen?

BTW - we use Apple's iTunes without owning a iPod - it works fine to listen from a PC/MAC in our labs. You assumed iTunes users must have an iPod in your talk.
